Technical Field Representative
Kenny & Khan Architects PC is looking for a full-time Technical Field Representative to be on the construction site of a new school addition project in Queens NY. This position will require a commitment of 2+ years, with potential to move to subsequent construction projects afterward.
The Technical Field Representative shall have at a minimum, a degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management. A successful candidate is to have technical knowledge of construction and have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Computer proficiency and design skills are a must.
Under direction of the Architect, the Technical Field Representative is to assist in ensuring that the work conforms to the contract documents and that the quality of the work is of an acceptable standard. The Technical Field Representative responsibilities will include:
Perform on-site observations and report as to the progress and quality of the work.
Review products and materials entering the site against specified and approved submittals.
Report if any portion of the work requiring shop drawings, product data or samples has commenced before such submittals have been approved.
Observe tests required by the contract documents, and report if any required tests or inspections have not been coordinated prior to the work proceeding.
Manage, log, maintain and store all project submittals, records, and maintain a log book of construction activities.
Attend, prepare for and participate in meetings and prepare and distribute minutes.
Provide other administrative and technical duties at the discretion of the Architect.
